This year, Emerge has revamped our annual wellness experience (formerly called 'Free Your Mind') into Well & Wild: Getting to the Heart of Black Wellness.
The multi-day experience will amplify Black healthcare and wellness professionals while simultaneously providing attendees with an immersive and educational experience. The experience aims to celebrate the cultural significance of Black Americans' history, contributions, and future of Black Americans as a two-fold event during Black History Month in 2025.

Game Night for Give 8/28
Celebrate, support and uplift Black-led nonprofits on August 28 at Fogartyville Media & Arts Center near downtown Sarasota for a night of classic fun including board games, an Uno tournament, college-style party games, music from DJ Bass God while meeting local Black-led nonprofit organizations and their leaders.
Attendees are encouraged to engage with the showcase of 10 local nonprofits or organization representatives to learn about each of their missions and the ways you can contribute to their sustainability in the community.
The community is invited to enjoy this uplifting and fun event that will close out BLACK PHILANTHROPY MONTH in celebration and collaboration.
This event is free with registration. Donations are encouraged.

Free Your Mind 4
In conjunction with National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month (July), Emerge Sarasota invites attendees to join us at our fourth annual BIPOC Mental Health awareness initiative, Free Your Mind 4.
The multi-day awareness program has been redesigned as a full-day health and wellness workshop this year. Attendees will be guided by local BIPOC wellness experts and professionals who will share their expertise and provide a holistic blueprint on how to strive for a better mind, body and spirit.

A 24-hour online fundraiser that connects nonprofit organizations with passionate donors and community members to support diverse causes and create impact in Sarasota and Manatee Counties.
Donate to our mission to connect, support, uplift and advance our region’s Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) young professionals. Every dollar donated is matched 1-to-1 and goes to fund our Arts + Culture, Health + Wellness and Professional Development initiatives.

Lavish Lagniappe Gala
Emerge's inaugural gala will be the biggest event this spring! Join Emerge members for a festive night and be transported into the heart of New Orleans. Become immersed in the sights, sounds, flavors, and atmosphere of the iconic French Quarter.
The Lavish Lagniappe will bring together Sarasota’s emerging young, minority leaders (and our supporters) for an evening of culture, experiences, celebration, and a bit of revelry.

Local Art Collective: Charcoal Object Drawing
Emerge's first Arts + Culture event for local artists and art aficionados. Get hands on demonstrations and lessons from Sarasota native + artist Bianca Clyburn. Bianca is academically trained in the science of drawing and is an experienced artist. Through work-study at a local non profit fine arts center, Bianca has fined tuned her abilities as a .
Open to Emerge members, potential members + local art enthusiasts. Price is $50 per person. Ticket price includes: art supplies, a cheese plate and a bottle of wine for the table.

Movie Night Monthly Mixer: Black Panther Red Carpet Premire
Emerge Sarasota’s February Member Mixer will be one you don’t want to miss!
Emerge members and interested potential members are invited to enjoy a movie night for the premiere of the most anticipated film of the year— Black Panther.
Join us for a night featuring a great flick, the opportunity to network with like-minded minority professionals + tons of great conversation.
Ticket price includes: popcorn and drink during the film plus entry into the cocktail mixer immediately following the movie. Heavy hors d’oeuvres and drinks will be served during the mixer.

Black Joy: An Academic Symposium
Emerge Sarasota, in partnership with Phoenix Rising Tennis Academy, New College of Florida and the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, present the Academic Symposium: a panel discussion on Climate Change, Environmental Justice & Activism.
Join local activists, New College's Black Student Union and other local minority professionals, for an in-depth discussion on how environmental changes have an effect on the black community.
Featured panelist is Nef Price, Emerge's Sports + Education director and owner of Phoenix Rising Tennis Academy.

Members of Emerge will volunteer and partner with the Sarasota County Boys and Girls Club and the Tiny Hands Foundation for the Back To School Backpack Brigade. The free backpack drive will provide underpriveliged youth in Sarasota with back to school essentials.
